Confidence And Belief High Says DJ

19 December 2017

Midfielder Daniel Johnson feels the dressing room has bounced back well from a difficult period and are in good shape heading into the busy Christmas period.

After a spell plagued by injuries to a number of players, North End have now gone six games unbeaten, winning four of those games, and the 25-year-old feels recent results was just what the squad needed to get back to their best.

Johnson is hoping to kick-off the festive period with three points against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and speaking to iFollow PNE ahead of the game, he said: "I think a win would definitely top things off going into Christmas and I hope everyone has a really good Christmas and New Year.

"First and foremost we've got to concentrate on the game that's coming up, it's going to be tough, every game is tough in this league and you've got to earn the right to get those three points.

"I'm sure with the confidence and belief that we've got from picking ourselves back up over the last couple of games, going into Saturday's game we will have no doubts that we can go and win and get the three points.

"We've managed to get some really good results that put a lot of confidence and belief back in the group so hopefully going into these next couple of games we can really attack it and get as many points as we can.

"The last two results have been really good for us and I think we've needed that to be honest. We needed to pick up some points and put pressure on the teams above us so I think the last two results have really helped us to kick on with this tough period coming up and we are all looking forward to it.|"

With four games in less than ten days coming up over Christmas, Johnson feels the whole squad will be needed over a hectic period of games.

"The manager will pick the team on the day that he thinks will go out there and get the result.

"Everyone is going to play a big part, it's quite difficult for a few boys to sustain that level in such a short period of time so we are going to need everyone and hopefully we don't pick up any injuries and I'm sure that will be alright.

Saturday's game sees the final home game of the calendar year, and Johnson is hoping the supporters get behind the team once again and play their part in helping to pick up three points for a fourth consecutive game.

"It's always a pleasure when you have a big crowd, especially when they loud and really behind you so that's going to be key. I think so far its been really good, all of our home games our fans can see that this season we've really approached it very differently.

"With the new manager coming in, he's changed a few things and I'm sure they can see every week that we really attack it and go for it. We feel like we can beat anyone in the league with the quality that we've got in our changing room so hopefully we can continue that."
