It’s a been a few years since we last met at Deepdale in a Championship clash, but the Blades return to PR1 on Saturday having started the season in fine form.
Former Blade player and fan Chris Wilder has done a fantastic job at Bramall Lane since his appointment, gaining promotion as League One winners with 100-plus points and they have started this season in the same vein of form, being sat amongst the promotion contenders from the off.
They have had a tough couple of weeks of results, but their performances have not reflected the results. Former PNE skipper Paul Coutts was at the heart of their early season form, but a broken leg has unfortunately ruled him out of playing at Deepdale – the club wish him a speedy recovery.
Another ex-PNE man, striker Leon Clarke – who had a loan spell at the club – has been in excellent goalscoring form in attack for the South Yorkshire side, who play with a real forward-thinking intent, meaning it could well be a thrilling game, with two sides going toe-to-toe.
