Twins Presented With Full PNE Kit For Whites Christmas

23 December 2017

Tom Barkhuizen and Calum Woods ventured to Croston to present twin brothers with a full PNE kit as part of Whites Christmas.

Tom Barkhuizen and Calum Woods ventured to Croston to present twin brothers with a full PNE kit as part of Whites Christmas.

Both Noah and Freddie Hart were nominated by their mum, Gemma as part of North End’s Whites Christmas campaign, so both Woods and Barkhuizen paid their school a visit one afternoon to meet the pair who Gemma described as an ‘inspiration’.

“Noah is an eight-year-old identical twin along with his brother Freddie, and they were both born with a rare brain condition which affects one in a million children around the world,” said Gemma who spoke to The One and Only matchday programme after the event.

“Because of that, Noah has been affected with his brain, his lung, his bowels and has been in and out of hospital for a number of years. He’s had many operations and because everything is so rare, it takes a little longer to diagnose and because of that, he’s been through an awful lot - a lot more than most children his age so to me he is a huge inspiration to me.”

Noah and Freddie’s class at Croston Trinity and St Michael’s Primary School were left in silence when the PNE pair walked in armed with a PNE junior kit for them both, including Noah who had no idea that his mum had put him and his brother forward for the campaign.

Gemma continued: “Noah was very surprised! He’s a very shy boy but he will love this and it will give him a great confidence boost. He loves PNE, it’s his local football team so to him, it’s his football team so that’s who he is going to support so this would have made his year!

“They’ll both be wanting to sleep in them kits tonight.”
