PNE To Host Stoke City In FA Youth Cup Quarter-Final

7 February 2017

Preston North End U18s will face Stoke City at Deepdale in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final later this month.

The tie will take place on Monday 27th February, with kick-off at 7pm.

On facing the Potters, academy manager Nick Harrison said: “They’re a very, very good team. Any team that gets to the quarter-final is going to be really tough.

“We went to watch them against Brighton last Friday and we know it’s going to be a really tough game. We’re going to have work hard to prepare for that one.”

The game is the latest in the youth team’s record-breaking run to this stage of the competition, with this their first appearance in the last eight for over 50 years.

The young Lilywhites beat AFC Wimbledon 3-2 after extra-time in the fifth round at Deepdale earlier this month, having previously knocked out Sheffield United 1-0 and Everton on penalties in rounds three and four respectively, both also played in PR1.

Get down to Deepdale and support the North End’s future stars, who will be looking to progress to a two-legged semi-final later in the season.

The Sir Tom Finney Stand south will be open for the game, with free admission for all so make sure you get behind the boys.

The game will also be streamed live on PNE PlayerHD for those who can't make it to the game, with live video and commentary from Deepdale.
