FA Cup Special For Callum

6 January 2017

The FA Cup will always have a special place in Callum Robinson's heart after scoring a hat-trick on his debut in the competition.

While on loan with North End, Robinson scored a hat-trick against Havant and Waterlooville in the first round of the Cup back in 2014, and the 21-year-old is hoping for some more cup magic these weekend.

The Lilywhites host Arsenal at Deepdale on Saturday evening, and speaking of the mouth-watering tie, the former Aston Villa youngster said: "It's going to be a big game on Saturday for all of us at the club, the fans, and we are looking forward to it.

"We have had a busy schedule leading up to this but now we have recovered and we can fully focus and be excited for the game."

Despite the quality in Arsenal's ranks, Robinson believes Simon Grayson's squad has the desire and the hunger to cause an upset this weekend.

"We've got a good, young group now here and a lot of young players who want to develop and want to show that they can play well against the top players, not just in this country but in the world.

"I think that's where we are aiming to be as a club and players individually will be aiming to show that they can do well against these top players."

On his dream start to playing in the FA Cup, he continued: "That was obviously an unbelievable night for me, I was a young player in my first FA Cup game and to get the hat-trick was really good and we went on to play against Manchester United here which was a great experience for me.

"I really enjoy it and I've always enjoyed the FA Cup, even when I was younger. I like to see an upset so it's nice to be involved in one and to try and get the win as the underdog."
