Grayson On Bluebirds Clash

30 January 2017

Manager Simon Grayson feels it will be a very different Cardiff City side his team will face on Tuesday night.

North End hosted the Bluebirds back in September where the Lilywhites came out 3-0 winners, but the PNE boss knows it will be a different challenge against a side with a new manager and new faces in the squad since the last encounter.

Speaking of Tuesday night's game, Grayson said: "Any time you play against Neil Warnock's team you know it's going to be a real tough test for you.

"He's brought players in, Hoilett and Bamba recently that have helped them along the way so you know what you have to expect.

"What we will try and do it build on the half decent perforamnce from the weekend but ultimately some very good performances before that.

"When you look at their team for the weekend, people like Pilkington and Rickie Lambert weren't involved and they have a lot of strength in depth.

"You know exactly what it's going to be, over the last few weeks they have played different systems so it's difficult to work out what they might do but we have to go there and get the basics right that we are good at doing and try and hurt the opposition as well."

After a good run of results on the road, the manager is hoping for more of the same, and will be boosted by the return of Greg Cunningham and new signing Tyias Browning will be available for the trip.

On other team news, the manager continued: "We've picked up a couple of knocks at the weekend as well which you expect in a tough, physical game so we will analyse the squad and see what's available and as we do, try and pick out what will be the best system and the best players to go and get the three points down there."

"We will go there in good spirits and hopefully try and get three points to get us further up the table."

"We will look forward to it and hopefully we can keep picking up the points as we go along."
