Hugill: "We Can Beat Anyone On Our Day"

12 January 2017

Jordan Hugill feels that North End are capable of beating anyone in the Championship when on top form.

With plenty of heart to take from the terrific performance against Arsenal last weekend, the squad are ready to take on league leaders Brighton and Hove Albion at Deepdale on Saturday.

Speaking to PNE PlayerHD ahead of the game, Hugill said: "With the performance that we gave against Arsenal, if we can reproduce that against another top team like Brighton it will be a good day for everyone.

"First half against Arsenal we should have been a few goals up, to have that against a Premier League side in itself is great but to do it against a top Premier League side meant we came out of that game with our heads held high and we will take that into the Brighton game.

"If we can replicate that performance from the first half in the league then we can beat anyone. If we take that into any game this season we can beat anyone on our day and it's a recipe for winning games.

Hugill is feeling the benefits of that FA Cup clash and from featuring regularly but insists there is still more to come from him as he continues to learn and develop on a daily basis.

"I'm always learning, out on the training pitch and the more games I play I'm still learning.

"I try and take as much as I can from the coaches on the pitch and if I'm playing games I am always asking what I can do better and how I can improve so it's always about learning for me.

"Obviously against Arsenal, you are playing a top side and learning from players who are better than you and watching how people play.

"I am always learning, no matter what age I am or how many games I've played, I will continue to try and learn."
