It was a tale of two emotions for Tom Barkhuizen when he spoke to PNEPlayerHD after today's 3-1 defeat.
Speaking after the full-time whistle, the January signing was honest in his assessment of this afternoon's encounter.
"We knew it was a big game coming into it but we didn't deserve to get anything from it," told Barkhuizen to PNEPlayerHD.
"They were by far the better team especially in the first-half. We were better in the second-half but essentially they were the better team but we will go again Tuesday against Derby.
"They've been the best team we've played against since we've been here - I'm surprised they're not higher up the table to be honest."
"We gave them too much time and once they got the first goal there was no stopping them.
"It was a well-executed finish from Barkhuizen, an inventive low drive with his laces into the bottom corner gave North End a fighting chance heading in to the last 20 minutes of the game - however, Fulham renewed their two goal lead through Neeskens Kebano ten minutes later.
"It was a great ball from Geads (Aiden McGeady) and once I got in there it was just a bit of compsoure - I just aimed for the corner," said Barkhuizen on his goal.
"It's nice to have been involved in the last few weeks off the bench and the gaffer has said to me that I've been here on merit and my performances have warranted a start.
"It was nice to play but disappointing not to get a result. The goal was a really good feeling and I feel as though there's more to come."
