We're looking for primary school children to enter a PNE themed inspired poem for Preston North End's official matchday programme 'The One And Only'.
Preston North End are celebrating World Book Day by launching a poetry competition for junior poets within primary schools (open to pupils who are in school years reception to year six). To enter, youngsters must come up with a poem inspired by either PNE or football using the template provided.
We encourage entries to feature illustrations and colour alongside their poems and remember, it doesn’t have to rhyme!
Our judging panel will choose the best poem, taking into account colour, creativity and how prominent PNE or football is in your poem. The winner will receive a signed framed copy of the programme, a matchday experience at the Nottingham Forest game and a visit to their school from Preston North End first team players*.
The panel will also choose a further nine runners-up who will be invited to the Nottingham Forest game where they will be presented on the pitch at half-time alongside the winner and presented with a free matchday programme.
To enter, you must use the template provided which can be accessed here.
Remember to keep in the lines, and fill in your name, age and school so we can contact you if you are the winner!
All poems must be submitted by close of play on Thursday 23rd March and the winner will have their poem published in the matchday programme for the Nottingham Forest game on Saturday 1st April.
Entries can be posted to the club, marked ‘PNE PL Stars Poem Competition’ or dropped off at Preston North End, Sir Tom Finney Way, Preston, PR1 6RU. Alternatively, designs can be handed to your head teacher at school.
