Fisher Looking Forward To Deepdale Return

25 October 2017

Defender Darnell Fisher is looking forward to being back on home turf this weekend as North End look to get back to winning ways.

The Lilywhites suffered only their second league defeat of the season last weekend and are unbeaten at home so far this campaign. Fisher is hoping the squad can use their frustrations from last weekend's game to drive them to three points on Saturday.

Speaking to iFollow PNE ahead of the visit of Brentford, Fisher said: "I think we will channel our frustration into a positive on Saturday and hopefully we can get a good result on Saturday that will push us into next week.

"This game coming up on Saturday is a big game, then we've got another big game on Wednesday. We are looking forward to getting back and playing in front of our fans.

On this weekend's opposition, he continued: "Obviously I played against them last season and I know a bit about them but we will have a plan and we will go and do what we do. I'm sure they will know what we're about and it should be a good game."

Since joining in the summer, the 23-year-old has settled in quickly and has become a regular in the side at right back and feels he is already improving under manager Alex Neil.

"The lads took me in well, I've played a good few games and the manager has looked after me so I'm very happy here, it's a good bunch of boys.

"The first thing the manager said to me was 'I will make you a better player' and hopefully you can see that on the pitch. I feel good and I feel part of the team."

Despite a positive start to the campaign, North End have remained under the radar in much of the media coverage outside of the club, but that doesn't phase Fisher, who feel

"I think people will obviously look at us and think we aren't a big team or we aren't a good team and we just like to press. We have got good players here and we are a good team but if people on the outside think that then that's fine, we know what we are about here so that's the main thing.

"I think the manager knows what we are capable of and he even demands more from us which is a good thing, everyone knows we are good players and we're a good team so that's the main focus."
