It was back to school for North End’s John Welsh last week with the tough tackling midfielder taking in a PE lesson at Blessed Sacrament Primary School, hosted by PNE’s Premier League Primary Stars Team.
The school, who are part of North End’s Primary Stars Programme welcomed Welsh into their school by hosting a question and answer between pupils and North End’s No. 19, before Welsh himself took part in the PE lesson.
Welsh’s visit to the school underpins one of the many values the programmes aims to deliver, with children leaving the session both inspired by listening to the answers from the experienced pro and also encouraged to be ambitious by working hard and never giving up on their goals.
The programme has so far seen North End deliver the scheme far and wide across Preston to various schools with club support and online resources available to schools in North End’s catchment area.
