Lewis Fensome Named In LFE's 'The 11'

23 October 2017

Academy defender Lewis Fensome has been named in the League Football Education's 'The 11' for October.

'The 11' recognises players for their efforts both on and off the pitch, and Fensome has been selected alongside ten players from other clubs.

The 11’ acknowledges the football and academic progress of Under-18 players on apprenticeships at current or former EFL clubs.

Fensome, who is the U18s leading goalscorer this season with four goals from centre back, has impressed this campaign after recovering from a broken leg suffered early last season.

The injury meant a difficult season for the youngster in his first year as a scholar, but worked hard to make his comeback in time for the 2017/18 campaign.

The defender was named U18s captain at the start of the season and has led by example both in defence and in attack through his contribution of goals.

Discussing Fensome's impact, LFE regional officer Sarah Kayley said: “Lewis sets a fantastic example on the education programme, working hard and contributing within the classroom and is on target to achieve his Extended Diploma.

“As youth team captain, Lewis is a great role model and has ensured a harmonious dressing room, with both first and second years enjoying a good relationship.”

Congratulations to Lewis for his inclusion in 'The 11'.
