Woods On Fulham Test

12 October 2017

Calum Woods is expecting a tough test at Craven Cottage when North End face Slaviša Jokanović's Fulham.

Woods feels the international break has been beneficial for the squad and believes the team are capable of going to the capital and getting a positive result.

Speaking to iFollow PNE ahead of the game, the 30-year-old said: "It's been a good chance for us to recover and get ready for Fulham. We obviously know it's going to be a tough game but hopefully we can go there and get something out of the game.

"I definitely think we can go there and show what we are about as we've seen against some of the good teams we've played this season and we've done well against them and had some good results.

"I think we've got to take each game as it comes, obvioulsy the first one is Fulham so we will get that out of the way first, hopefully get a result there and then look at the next games then.

"It's a really tight bunch of lads so there's a great atmosphere about the place, all the lads are together and we've got a really good squad of players and good depth in the team.

Woods could make his return to the starting Xl this weekend with Darnell Fisher serving a one-match suspension after picking up five bookings, and Woods knows the defence will be in for a tough afternoon.

"In the past, when I've seen Fulham they are always down the sides, they are always attacking from the full backs and the wide players so they are obviously going to push on so we will have a job on our hands at the back.

"I think we've got enough in our team to show what we are about going the other way to create chances and get goals ourselves so hopefully on Saturday we will be able to do that.
