Manager Alex Neil could have a number of additions to his squad for Saturday’s first game after the international break.
Declan Rudd, John Welsh and Calum Woods all came through the Lancashire Senior Cup victory over Burnley on Tuesday, with Rudd and Woods getting 90 minutes under their belt.
Paul Gallagher also returned from concussion for the win over the Clarets and he will be another option available to the manager for the clash with Paul Heckingbottom’s Tykes.
Stephy Mavididi returned from England U20 duty to train on Wednesday, back at Springfields, with Daryl Horgan back at the training ground after his time with Ireland on Thursday.
Tom Clarke and Greg Cunningham, the two long term absentees, are the only players ruled out for the Lilywhites, giving the manager plenty of decisions to make before naming his side to face Barnsley.
