The Lilywhites face the early season pace-setters, Cardiff City in the campaign's first home evening game under the floodlights at Deepdale.
Neil Warnock's side have had an excellent start; until last weekend they had a 100 per cent record in the Sky Bet Championship and showed further steel to come from behind to take a point at Craven Cottage on Saturday, Danny Ward's goal giving them a 1-1 draw.
For North End, they too lost a record at the weekend, dropping their first points at Deepdale, with Barnsley parking the proverbial bus after equalising Sean Maguire's first goal for the club mid-way through the opening half.
The Bluebirds come to Deepdale have spent £4m in the summer transfer market, dwarfing the Lilywhites' own spending and they will be the clear favourites, however, Alex Neil's men will be looking to continue to make PR1 a fortress.
