Leeds United vs Preston North End Match Preview

28 August 2018

It’s Carabao Cup action for the Lilywhites on Tuesday night as we make a trip across the Pennines to face Championship leaders Leeds United at Elland Road.

North End beat Lancashire rivals Morecambe in round one, whilst Leeds overcame fellow Championship side Bolton Wanderers in their first tie of the competition, with both teams making plenty of changes to their teams.

The two sides have come up against each other plenty of times in recent years, with last year seeing North End pick up a point with ten men at Elland Road and then being victorious in the return game at Deepdale, but it has been all change over in Yorkshire over the summer.

Marcelo Bielsa is the name that has been on everyone’s lips in the early part of the season, as the Whites have started the season in fine style and current sit on top of the table, showing the tough test facing Alex Neil’s men.
