Preston North End Home To Doncaster Rovers In Emirates FA Cup Third Round

3 December 2018

The Lilywhites were drawn at home to face League One side Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The ties for the last 64 were drawn at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge, with Ruud Gullitt drawing out PNE at home, with Paul Ince drawing the visitors.

The ties for the third round will be played the weekend of Saturday 5th January 2019, confirmed date, pricing and ticketing details to be announced in the next few days.

The two sides last met in the competition in November 1997, when two goals from Sean Gregan and one from David Eyres gave the team a 3-2 win, with Adie Mike and Andrew Hammond Rovers’ scorers.

The two sides last met at Deepdale in March 2015, in the Lilywhites’ League One promotion season, the game finishing 2-2, Daniel Johnson scoring first, before Harry Forrester and Curtis Main put the visitors ahead, but Jermaine Beckford equalised in injury-time to keep Simon Grayson’s side’s long-unbeaten run going.
