PNE Running Christmas Donation Centre

10 December 2018

Preston North End are running a week-long donation centre encouraging its community to come together and support vital causes in the area this Christmas.

The Community and Education Trust will be hosting a drop-off point from its community offices from Monday 10th December right up until the Millwall fixture on Saturday 15thDecember, and are calling on the goodwill of its fantastic supporters to donate items towards the Foxton Centre in Preston, and Rock FM’s Mission Christmas campaign.

We are asking members of the general public to donate the following items:

- Non-perishable foods, (items that require a minimum of preparation/cooking, food tins etc)

- Toiletries (such as razors, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, flannels, towels, combs and brushes – no sanitary products.)

- Clothing – particularly warm and waterproof outer garments, gloves, scarves, hats, new underwear and socks.

- Gifts for children (we ask that they are new and unwrapped)

- Washing powder

Based in Avenham, the Foxton Centre works with those who face problems with poverty, addictions and mental health.

Through outreach work and projects, the centre reaches out to homelessness and street sex workers providing practical and safe solutions to move forward in their lives.

Rock FM’s Mission Christmas Cash for Kids looks to provide underprivileged children with gifts they wouldn’t otherwise receive on Christmas Day, and if North End’s donation centre is a little out of your way, there’s dozens of locations across Preston where you can drop off new and unwrapped gifts.

Head of Community at PNE, Andy Haythornthwaite said: “These services are vital to our communities throughout the year, but more so at this significant time when not everybody will be enjoying the true Christmas spirit.

“Preston North End has a massive influence in our community - and we are looking to use the pull we have - as well as calling on the kindness and generosity of our supporters to unite and make a difference to the people who need it most this Christmas."

The Community offices are located at the back of the Alan Kelly Town End. Full dates and times of the PNE Christmas Donation Centre are as follows.
