Whilst our hosts will be looking to bounce straight back to their first league defeat of 2018, having won seven straight matches before the 2-0 reversal to Fulham at the weekend.

Speaking after the game, Bruce said his side will go from one test to another, although each one being very different.

“In the Championship you get dealt lots of different challenges,” he told Villa’s official website “[On Saturday] we've been beaten by a really good football team who've got great pace in wide areas and base their game on possession.

“We're going to get another one on Tuesday against a different kind of side, who also got a good result [on Saturday].

Gaffer On Change Of Mentality

“We've done fantastically well over the last few months and the players deserve great credit.

“They've got us in a wonderful position. We didn't play well enough [on Saturday] to win the match. But we get ready to go again on Tuesday.

“[Preston North End] have only lost six games all season. Add to that they've just gone and got a result against Wolves. It'll be a tough one.”
