Preston North End vs Hull City Match Preview

2 February 2018

The proverbial window has been slammed shut for another six months and now it is all about the football as North End start their final 17 games by entertaining Hull City at Deepdale this Saturday.

The Tigers have had a change in manager since Callum Robinson’s late winner at the KCOM Stadium back in late September, with Nigel Adkins now at the helm of the good ship City.

He finished the transfer window by recruiting centre half Angus MacDonald from Barnsley on a permanent deal and young Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson on loan for the remainder of the campaign and both could be given their Hull debuts in PR1 at the weekend.

City are just seven months on from losing their Premier League status, but like Sunderland, have failed to reach the high standards they would have hoped for, but nonetheless still contain a squad packed with players with top flight quality and experience.

For North End, life after Jordan Hugill means an opportunity for someone else to stake their claim for a regular starting berth leading the line and after Callum Robinson’s impressive display at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, he is in prime position to get the first slice of the action.
