Preston North End vs Ipswich Town Match Preview

23 February 2018

Preston North End’s trip to Portman Road back in November was a red letter day in the season.

It was a performance and result that saw the Lilywhites draw a line under the game after, from which they have now lost just one game in the subsequent 17 EFL Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

But having suffered a heavy defeat to Mick McCarthy’s side that day, the Lilywhites are well aware of how tough this weekend’s game will be and know they need to be at the top of their game if they are to get the positive result needed to keep up the pressure on the Play-Off positions.

There is also the side matter of Joe Garner’s first return to Deepdale since his move to Rangers in the summer of 2016 and he is certain to get a warm welcome back from the North End faithful with the striker set to return to the Tractor Boys side having missed their midweek clash with Cardiff City with a knee injury.
