Wolves Clash Excites Huntington

16 February 2018

Paul Huntington cannot wait for tomorrow when PNE host Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Championship clash at Deepdale.

Wolves are 12 points clear at the top of the table, but the Lilywhites have not tasted defeat in the league since the beginning of November.

Despite his enthusiasm Huntington is not getting carried away. The defender told iFollow PNE: “I’m looking forward to the game, as I’m sure the rest of the lads are, and as I’m sure the fans are.

“It’s what you play football for. You want to test yourself against the best teams in this division. We know they’ll be tough games, but we know what to expect and well make sure that were ready.

“It’s a big game but I wouldn’t say it’s more important than any others. I’m of the mindset that every game is as important as each other.

“I, and all the rest of the lads, will prepare in the same way that we always do. We’ll approach it in the same way that we do every game. We’ll go into it well prepared and looking to take three points.”

North End’s No.23 has been a mainstay in the team over the past few weeks. Injuries and suspensions have seen manager Alex Neil have to chop and change his starting line-up, but Huntington has been a constant in defence.

“So many times this season we seem to have got one or two back and then we lose two or three for whatever reason.

"We’ve not had a lot of luck on having a fully fit squad, but sometimes you get seasons like that.

“As we’ve done in the last couple of weeks, we’ll get on with it and keep battling away, trying to get as many points between now and the end of the season as we can.”
