Manager Alex Neil is looking for his side to increase their performance levels on Tuesday night against Nottingham Forest.
The gaffer admits his side have not been at their best in recent weeks but is confident PNE can return to winning ways at the City Ground.
Speaking to iFollow PNE ahead of the game, the PNE boss said: "Predominantly a lot of our performances over the course of the season have been of a good level, unfortunately I don't think we've had those levels in recent weeks but we were here previously in the season and then that coincided with probably our best run of the season so we just need to get refocused and make sure that we are ready to get the job done now.
With eight changes at the weekend and players returning from injury, Neil has some tough decisions to make when it comes to his team selection, and although it's a positive dilemma to have, it's something the gaffer will not be taking lightly.
"I think when you've got games in quick succession, keeping lads hungry and fresh is an important factor.
"We made quite a lot of changes on Saturday so we should have some lads that might come back in with fresh legs and some lads who performed on Saturday who we are hoping will be ok and can go again.
"You would like to think that it makes us stronger, we've got a couple of players still missing which will make us stronger again but I think it just shows how much we've tried to improve the squad now we have got some really difficult decisions to make.
"Guys who are really good players are going to miss out on even getting on the bench and it's certainly not a decision that I will be taking lightly."
The two sides last faced each other last month, with Paul Huntington's effort securing a point for the Lilywhites at Deepdale, and the manager feels that it was a game his side should have won and is hoping to put that right on Tuesday evening.
"I think certainly with the chances we had in the first 30 minutes of the game, the game should probably have been out of sight, but we didn't get those vital goals at a time when we were on top.
"I think that has been something that we need to try and improve on, however we didn't lose the game, Paul Huntington scored late on to get us a point which was what we deserved at the least.
"It's one of those ones where you need to go into the game wanting to get three points and we need to go and try and play as well as we can and do that."
