Preston North End’s U18s fell to a 3-0 defeat against Wigan Athletic at UCLan Sports Arena on Saturday.
The loss was the first in the North West Youth Alliance for Nick Harrison’s side since mid-October, and only the fourth league defeat for the young Lilywhites all season.
PNE have now reached the halfway stage of their league campaign, having won seven and drawn the other three of their 14 league outings.

Next up for the youth team is a trip to Rotherham United in the Northern quarter-finals of the Youth Alliance Cup on Saturday 13 January, with the venue and kick-off time to be confirmed.
