Melle Meulensteen's contract at Preston North End has been cancelled by mutual consent.
The midfielder came through the youth system at Deepdale and signed his first professional contract in April 2017.
The 18-year-old captained the youth team in last season's impressive FA Youth Cup run before joining the first team in the summer.
Meulensteen featured for the first team in pre-season before joining Lancaster City on loan for the first half of the season.
