Jordan Storey Learning Something New Every Day

11 July 2018

For Preston North End’s youngest of their summer signings, Jordan Storey, every day has been a school day so far, but he is enjoying the learning curve.

The central defensive recruit from Exeter City joined up with his new team-mates from the start of pre-season and says that every day has been a chance to improve and learn from both the manager and those around him.

“I have learnt something new every day and that is what I want to continue doing, improving and learning and try and push on,” he told iFollow PNE. “The experienced lads have been great, giving me tips and advice and that’s what I need – I want to learn from the best.

“It has been great; all the lads have been nice and welcoming and that always helps when you come to a new club, so I have enjoyed it so far.”

He made his debut in a Lilywhites shirt at Bamber Bridge at the weekend, as he and his new colleagues ran out 7-0 winners and he enjoyed the experience, as he has the intense, if warm, training.

“It felt great to get out on the pitch,” continued the 20-year-old. “It was a good little starter to kick things off and I think we all did well. It is a test for us because they want to show what they are about, but we did well and hopefully we can build from there.

“You could hep yourself in the summer by doing certain stuff and the club have also helped in the few days since I have been here and it is now about pushing on.

“Once you have done the work it is in the tank and once it is complete it will benefit us later on and I am glad now to get a few days under the belt.

“I was surprised by how hot it has been up here, but I think that has helped us; it makes everything a bit harder and I glad that it has made us work even harder. Playing and training in 25 degrees really pushes you.”

And the work continues this week with a short trip to AFC Fylde and the step up in opponent is something the new No.14 hopes will see a similar outcome: “It is about building and improving with each game.

“They are a good side in the Conference and it will be a good test for us, but hopefully we can get another good result and build on from it,” he added.
