Preston North End vs Burnley Match Preview

23 July 2018

The Lilywhites are quickly back at Deepdale after Saturday’s entertaining 2-2 draw with West Ham United.

And it is another Premier League outfit, as Burnley head across from East Lancashire in a warm up for their Europa League tie against Aberdeen on Thursday night.

North End boss Alex Neil could have Ben Pearson available, after he was forced off early in the first half of the draw with the Hammers, but Tom Barkhuizen is expected to miss out after hobbling off in the second period.

The team could well be those who did not start against Manuel Pellegrini’s men, meaning the likes of Robinson, Huntington, Rudd, Maguire and Johnson could all start against the Clarets, who themselves are expected to field a strong team in preparation for their trip to the north of Scotland.

Select group match official Peter Bankes takes charge of the game, which will see the Lilywhites again in their new home strip.

The new entry system is now active at Deepdale and fans need a barcoded ticket for entry at this fixture. These can be purchased in advance on www.mypne.com, or right up until kick-off at the Sir Tom Finney Stand ticket office.

Tickets for the game are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and free for accompanied U11s.

The Invincibles ticket office will also be open from 6pm selling tickets for all home stands. Fans can also buy by calling 0344 856 1966 up until 6pm, after that time it must be in person at the ground.

The club's shuttle bus, running from Leyland Tesco, will be in operation. The shuttle departs as 6pm from Leyland Tesco (Stop A – car park), its route is via Church Road, Canberra Road, Turpin Green Lane, Churchill Way, Golden Hill Lane, Preston Road to The Railway.

At 6.10pm it departs The Railway, Preston Road – (Bus Stop on the same side as pub) and then arrives at Lowthorpe Road, Deepdale at 7pm. It is priced at £4 for a return ticket and £3 for a single.

There will be full match coverage on iFollow PNE, with Jonathan Breeze joined by a co-commentator and on air from 7.30pm, ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off. We’ll also have all our usual coverage on social media and on PNE.Com pre and post-match.
