Mathew Hudson Agrees New Two-Year Deal

6 June 2018

Young goalkeeper Mathew Hudson has agreed a new two-year deal at Preston North End.

The 19-year-old's new contract will see the 'keeper remain at the club until at least the summer of 2020.

Hudson came through the club's Academy, signing his first professional contract in January 2016 and had made his first team debut earlier that season against Leeds United in December 2015.

The young stopper will now look to go out on loan in search of regular football to get more experience under his belt, after working alongside a number of first team goalkeepers during his time at Deepdale so far.

Speaking of his new deal, Hudson said: "I am really thankful for the opportunity and thankful that I have been offered this contract and I am looking forward kicking on now.

"I have been here a long time now and I am at the stage now where I have matured enough to push myself to the limit and try and kick on.

"I've trained with a lot of really good goalkeepers and learnt a lot and got a lot of experience from the reserve games and pre-season games but now is the time that I need to get some proper games and I will be looking to do that."
