PNE Podcast: Episode 42

6 June 2018

Our latest official club podcast is now out and available to download as we take on a World Cup theme ahead of the start of the tournament.

The podcast is available through both iTunes here and Soundcloud here.

With plenty of PNE connections, ahead of the tournament starting in Russia we bring you a packed episode full of content.

From World Cup memories, from playing and coaching, to a former PNE loanee set to star in Russia, there is something for everyone.

Former PNE goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly joins host Guy Clarke in the studio to talk about his two campaigns with the Republic of Ireland at USA '94 and in Japan and South Korea in 2002.

With plenty of talk about former North End loanee Jordan Pickford ahead of the tournament, his former coach at North End Kelly discuss his chances of being the man between the sticks for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions in Russia this summer.

Ex-PNE and Scotland boss Craig Brown also joins us this week to talk about his World Cup memories, having been on the coaching staff with the Scots for a number of major tournaments prior to leading the national side at France '98.

Brown also shares his secret on how the Tartan Army kept Brazil’s Ronaldo quiet in the group phase, plus talks about his time at Deepdale, relationship with Billy Davies and hopes for what fellow Scot Alex Neil may be able to achieve with the Lilywhites.

All that, plus we hear from new signing Michael Crowe following the announcement of his arrival at Deepdale, Sean Maguire speaks about extending his stay with the club and there’s also news on Matt Hudson’s new contract.

‘Talk of the Terrace’ also returns as we hear from Paul Flynn on the supporters’ online forum initiative which will see two season cards loaned out during the course of next season for nominated fans.
