Preston North End’s second home league game of the Championship season will be shown live on Sky Sports.
The Lilywhites’ clash with Stoke City on Saturday 18th August has been selected for coverage on TV with the game pushed back to a 5.30pm kick-off on the same date.
The Potters make their first trip to face North End in the league at Deepdale since February 2008, when Richard Chaplow struck twice to defeat Tony Pulis’ side.
That day the visitors, who would go on to earn promotion to the Premier League that season, contained five former or future PNE players, in Steve Simonsen, Leon Cort, Danny Pugh, Richard Cresswell and Ricardo Fuller, whilst Paul Gallagher and Jon Parking came off the bench!
On the North End side that day was Callum Davidson, this week appointed as a member of Gary Rowett’s coaching team at the bet365 Stadium.
The two sides have been trading blows since the Football League began 130 years ago this season, with the home side running out 7-0 winners at Deepdale in our first meeting in 1888 and overall, in all competitions, we have 45 wins to City’s 35, with 21 drawn games.
As a live TV game this game will not be available to broadcast for live video coverage on iFollow, with audio commentary only available for this game.
