First Ireland Goal For Browne

20 May 2018

Four North End players were in action for Republic of Ireland at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon as Ireland were held to a 2-2 draw against Celtic in Scott Brown's testimonial.

Alan Browne and Sean Maguire started for Martin O'Neill's side, with Browne netting his first goal for his country to give the boys in green an early lead with a fine right footed strike from the edge of the box.

You can watch Alan's first goal for the Republic of Ireland national side below.

Greg Cunningham and Callum Robinson were both named on the bench for the game, with the pair coming on as second half substitutes while both Browne and Maguire played the full 90 minutes.

Robinson's appearance from the bench marked his Republic of Ireland debut following his first call up last week after the striker declared himself available for the national side earlier this year

After being named in the provisional squad for the game, Daryl Horgan wasn't named in the final squad for the match.

The Ireland squad will join up again next week ahead of their two friendlies against France and USA on Monday 28th May and Saturday 2nd June respectively. An update on the squad for those games will be announced in due course.
