Brewers manager Nigel Clough is very clear of his side’s task going into the final day showdown at Deepdale.
Speaking to the media in the build up to this weekend’s game, the Albion boss said he would be keeping a close eye on what was happening elsewhere, as no doubt everyone in PR1 will be on Sunday!
“It's going to be a game where we have to keep an eye on other results,” he said. “If Bolton are going to win then we need more than a draw. Whatever Barnsley get we need better than that.
“With one game to go it is very clear that we all have hard games. I wish we were at home not away, but I think we go to Preston in great spirits.”
However, the Burton gaffer feels his side are well prepared for the game and will not have any problem coping with the pressure, after three consecutive wins gave them a chance of final day redemption.
“We dealt with the situation very, very well against Bolton and we will have to do the same again next week,” he continued.
“We told the players before Bolton that whatever they did they mustn't think about the next game only what they had to do that day. Now all our thoughts concentrate on Sunday.
“It will be the usual preparation - nothing different and then we will give ourselves the best chance to get a result.
“We would have liked to have been out of the bottom three going into the last game, but we only have to be out of it on the last day.”
