After four points were picked up from what appeared two tough home games on paper, Alex Neil’s side are looking upwards once again, but are well aware of how difficult Saturday’s trip to St Andrews will be.

Garry Monk’s side were victorious against ten man Millwall on Wednesday night, with a Meredith own goal, created by the in-form Che Adams and Michael Morrison securing their first win in four games against Neil Harris’ Lions.

This was an excellent response from the Blues, who had suffered derby day agony the previous Sunday at Villa Park, despite having taken the lead and have a gilt-edged chance to go two up against their second city rivals. So they will be buoyed by that grit shown to bounce straight back and will pose a tough test of North End’s run of form.
