Preston North End U18’s FA Youth Cup third round tie against Charlton Athletic has been confirmed for Tuesday 4th December, with a 7pm kick-off at Deepdale.
Charlton beat Southend United 2-0 on Wednesday night to set up the tie against the young Lilywhites in PR1.
It will be the first time the youth team have played at Deepdale since February 2017, with Stoke City the visitors on that occasion in the same competition, after PNE were eliminated at this stage last season away at Tottenham Hotspur.
Charlton’s Category Two Academy has seen numerous high-profile players progress through their ranks in recent years and North End’s Academy manager, Nick Harrison, is expecting a difficult test from the Addicks.
“It’s going to be a really tough game, Charlton Athletic are renowned for producing top, top players from their Academy,” he said.
“But we’ve got a good group of players as well and players who have been in and around the first team. I think it’s going to be a tough game but one that the players are certainly looking forward to and the staff are too.”
Tickets for the game will be priced at £4 for adults, £2 for concessions (Over 65s and under 18s), while there will be free entry for under 11s with an accompanied adult.
Season ticket holders of both clubs can gain free entry by collecting a ticket at the turnstiles, on production of a valid 2018/19 season card/ticket.
