Callum Robinson earned his fifth cap for Republic of Ireland on Thursday evening.
The forward has been in fine form for North End this season, and started for the fourth time for Martin O'Neill's side, his fifth appearance for the boys in green.
Sean Maguire was named amongst the substitutes for the 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland in Dublin, with Alan Browne not included in the matchday squad.
Maguire came on to replace his North End teammate Robinson in the 66th minute, but was forced off before the end after picking up a hamstring injury.
