Special Guests At The PNE Soccer School

23 October 2018

There was a whole range of special guests for the Preston North End soccer school on Monday with PNE midfielder Daniel Johnson and forward Lukas Nmecha two of many who headed down to the Community Training Centre to join in with the fun!

The PNE pair took time out of their schedules to meet participants, many of whom were delighted to see their heroes in the flesh for the first time with Nmecha making his first appearances at North End’s soccer school since his summer move.

The duo took part in a signing session with the children who were also keen to grab a selfie with both Johnson and Nmecha!

As well as professional footballers, we welcomed Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service ahead of Bonfire Night who were on hand to educate the youngsters on the dangers of fireworks and being safe this Bonfire Night.

Echoing the same message, the Deepdale Princes Trust team were present to help enforce an important message at this time of the year as Programme Support Worker Sally Myerscough at Lancashire Fire and Rescue went on to explain.

On the project which sees the Princes Trust team take part in a three month developmental programme, she said: “As part of this project, we have to do a lot of work in the community hence why we are here. We’re looking to try and raise awareness and get these people to raise their skills, teamwork and being able to speak in public as some of these people find it really difficult.

“I think it went down really well with the kids- I think they enjoyed it and having the players with us just topped off the afternoon for all concerned.”

We’re hosting soccer camps all this week at the PNE Community Training Centre in Ingol, and places are still available to book your child in for just £12 a day from 9am until 4pm.

Whether they want to enjoy non-stop football from our qualified coaches at our soccer school, or they’re looking at getting involved in our activity zone at the same location, where arts, crafts and multi-sport activities are at the top of the agenda.
