Darnell Fisher is hoping Preston North End can bounce back from their defeat to Reading when the Lilywhites take on Sheffield United this weekend.
North End's impressive run of form came to an end at the wekeend with a first defeat in 13 games, but despite the setback, Fisher believes that North End now have an opportunity to get back on track.
Speaking to iFollow PNE ahead of back to back games at Deepdale, the 24-year-old said: “Obviously we’re disappointed with the result against Reading, we probably should’ve got something out of the game and I think we would have if it went on ten minutes later but that’s what football is.
“We’ve got Sheffield United, Leeds United and then West Brom all in the same week so hopefully we can take a few points from there.
“These are the games you want to play in, you want to play in the biggest games possible and Sheffield United are going for automatic promotion so it should be a good game and hopefully we can do the job.”
PNE have impressed against some of the Championship’s best sides this season and Fisher is confident ahead of the upcoming week.
"We fancy ourselves to be one of the top teams in the league and we can show it when we play against them." He continued.
“I think Sheffield United and Leeds will bring a good support and that gets our crowd going and that gets us going as well so hopefully we can thrive off it.”
North End are just two points behind the Play-Off places but for now the defender is just focusing on Saturday’s clash with the Blades.
“People look at that big week we’ve got coming up and obviously we had Reading and then we got beat so you can’t look too far ahead of yourselves.
“We’ve got to take each game as it comes and see where it takes us from there.”
