Pollard In Contention For LFE Goal Of The Month Award

10 April 2019

Josh Pollard has become the latest Academy player this season to be nominated for the League Football Education’s [LFE] Goal of the Month award.

The second year scholar’s strike in the youth team's draw against Carlisle United last month is one of eight nominated efforts from across the Academy leagues in March.

The goal in question saw the Lilywhites’ 18-year-old midfielder pick up the ball on the edge of the box, with a North End corner having been cleared into his path, where he wound up a superb 25-yard strike which arrowed into the top corner of the net.

Josh is the third North End representative to be included in the LFE’s monthly competitions this season, with team-mates Ethan Walker and Adam O’Reilly having also been included in previous polls, the latter coming out on top in the vote for January.

The winning strike for March will be entered into a Goal of the Season contest come the end of the campaign, joining the previous winners of the award earlier in the campaign, including that of fellow Lilywhites youngster O’Reilly, whose winning strike also came against Carlisle.

You can now vote for Josh via the LFE’s online poll by clicking here and selecting Goal G or through sharing the hashtag #LFEGOALG on Twitter.

Votes from both platforms will be added together, so you can show your support for the PNE youngster and vote via both methods. Voting will close at 12 noon on Tuesday 16 April.
