Preston North End vs Sheffield Wednesday Match Preview

Ticket Information: Sheffield Wednesday

25 April 2019

The Owls lead the head to head 40-38 in the 99 games currently played, although the visitors have only won once in their last 20 games at Deepdale – on New Year’s Eve 2011 – their last before that being when Sir Tom Finney was still playing in March 1960!

Steve Bruce will be in charge of the visitors at the weekend. He has already faced North End once this season, when he was manager of Aston Villa – the game an absolute thriller at Villa Park, ending 3-3, with the ten-man hosts saw their last-minute penalty saved by Chris Maxwell as the start of PNE’s excellent run of form prior to Christmas.

Wednesday still have a shot at the Play-Offs, following their Bank Holiday Monday win over Bristol City, and will be going all out for the three points at the weekend, but Alex Neil’s side will want to end their home campaign on a high and put in a positive performance.
