Manager Provides An Update On Louis Moult

19 August 2019

Manager Alex Neil has given update on the knee injury Louis Moult sustained in the first half of Saturday's game against Swansea City.

Louis was stretchered off after 24 minutes after landing awkwardly in the opposition box, and the PNE boss spoke to iFollow PNE on Monday morning to give the latest on his striker.

"Louis will get a scan today, but it is not looking good. I spent time with him on the way back after the game and naturally, he is gutted.

"We are gutted for him, because he had performed him very well the game before and it looked like we were going to get him a run in the team, so we are gutted for him as well as for ourselves. We should find out the extent of the problem quickly, but I think it is going to be serious.

"Muscle tears and things like that, there is a correlation between fatigue and training load and you’re not going to stop that anyway, but with the likes of cruciates, ankles or joints, there is not a lot you can do.

"If someone goes over and tweaks their knee it is really unfortunate and Louis has never had any issues with his knees either.

"We haven’t done too much with him, we took him off after 70 minutes in the first game, so we could build him up, but it is one of those innocuous moments that become quite serious."

Everyone at the club would like to wish Louis a full and speedy recovery.
