Sheffield Wednesday went top of the Championship with their win over Luton Town on Tuesday night and whilst results on Wednesday evening knocked them off, they are certain an in-form side.
Therefore, the Lilywhites know if their 100 per cent start to the season at Deepdale is to continue, they will have to be at the top of their game when Lee Bullen brings the Owls to PR1.
It will be the 51st league encounter between the two sides at Deepdale, with plenty of entertaining games down the years, no more so than the 3-3 draw at the end of last season, when Steve Bruce’s side came from behind to take a point.
Bruce left to join home town team Newcastle United in the summer and Bullen has been in caretaker charge since then and done an excellent job. He was also in caretaker charge – his first of that spell – against North End at Hillsborough last season and has a very good record at a club he was a very well-respected player.
For North End though, they will be concentrating on themselves again, with one less day to recover, manager Alex Neil could well choose to make changes once again as they look to add another three points.
