With the summer transfer window now closed, we take a look at the comings and goings in recent months, with four new faces at Deepdale for the 2019/20 season.
As well as incomings, forward Tom Barkhuizen also put pen to paper on a new deal, committing his future to the club until at least the summer of 2022.
Incomings
Patrick Bauer
Defender Patrick Bauer was the first signing of the summer, agreeing a three-year deal with North End after during down a new deal at Charlton Athletic. Bauer made his competitive debut for the club on the opening day away to Millwall.
David Nugent
Striker David Nugent rejoined the club as the second signing of the transfer window, 12 years after leaving following a successful first spell a Deepdale. Nugent made his first appearance back in a PNE shirt in pre-season against Fleetwood Town as he stepped up his rehabilitation for an injury picked up in the first leg of the Play-Offs with Derby County at the end of the 2018/19 season.
Andre Green
Signing on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, Andre Green was the third player through the door this summer. Green completed his move two days before the opening game of the season away to Millwall and made his debut as a second half substitute at The Den.
Tom Bayliss
Midfielder Tom Bayliss was the final player to sign ahead of the deadline, completing his move from Coventry City the day before the 2019/20 season opener. Bayliss signed a four-year deal with North End, and the club fought off competition from a number of clubs for the highly rated midfielder's signature.
Outgoings
Callum Robinson - Sheffield United
Forward Callum Robinson joined Sheffield United on 12th July for an undisclosed fee. The Irish international's form during the 2018/19 campaign caught the eye of the newly promoted side and he was rewarded with an opportunity to play Premier League football with the Blades.
Chris Maxwell - Hibernian (loan)
Goalkeeper Chris Maxwell will spend the 2019/20 season at Hibernian after signing on a season long loan on 1st July. The loan move takes him to the end of his current contract at Deepdale, and will be looking for regular game time at Easter Road.
Graham Burke - Shamrock Rovers (loan)
Burke rejoined former club Shamrock Rovers on a 12-month loan deal which runs until the end of July 2020. The Irishman spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Gillingham and will be looking to have a successful second spell with Rovers after his impressive form when he was last at the club.
Josh Earl - Bolton Wanderers (loan)
Left back Josh Earl completed his six-month loan move to Bolton Wanderers ahead of their opening game of the season on Saturday 3rd August. He went straight in to the starting Xl but suffered an ankle ligament injury 14 minutes in to the game and is expected to be sidelined for eight to 12 weeks.
