Preston North End manager Alex Neil goes into the new season with a rare problem of having virtually his squad available for selection.

The PNE gaffer will only be without the suspended Ryan Ledson, who misses the opening two games of the season following his sending off at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

Other than the midfielder the rest of the squad will pose the North End boss a few headaches as he looks to formalise his team.

There could be competitive debuts for the eligible Patrick Bauer, Andre Green and Tom Bayliss, the latter two completed before the 12 noon Friday deadline and will all therefore come into contention.

David Nugent could also make his first appearance for the club since his departure to Portsmouth in the summer of 2007, wearing the No.35 shirt worn in his first few months at the club in early 2005.

Equally, there could be a number of debuts handed out by Lions boss Neil Harris, after a busy summer of recruitment at The Den.

Frank Fielding and Bartosz Bialkowski are vying to start in goal, with the latter completing a move from Ipswich Town at the beginning of the week and the former having arrived from Championship rivals Bristol City earlier in the summer.

Fellow new recruits Jason McCarthy, Mat Smith, Connor Mahoney and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson are set to feature, the last three forming what will be an altered frontline for Millwall, after Lee Gregory’s departure to Stoke City and veteran forward Steve Morison’s loan to Shrewsbury Town.
