David Nugent, Louis Moult and Connor Ripley weren’t invited to the Walking Football Christmas Party, but they made a surprise appearance for North End fan Jo Harwood as part of our Whites Christmas campaign.
Jo was nominated by one of her former walking football team-mates for a surprise from PNE, as she’s been caring for her husband who has dementia.
Nugent, Moult and Ripley arrived at the Christmas party a special present too - a signed shirt that was framed free of charge by the club's framing partner Framing Guru.
After gatecrashing the event and marvelling at the Christmas jumpers that were on show, the three North End stars spent time talking to Jo and posing for photos.
Speaking of the surprise Jo said: "I was absolutely shocked, I didn't think it was for me! I was looking around to see where they were going. It's fantastic because things have been a bit tough recently with one thing and another but it's lovely. I've been a lifelong North End supporter, it's over 50 years since I got my first season ticket so it's good.
"These players give so much back to the community, it's not just Saturday's when they turn up, it's during the week as well."
