Rex Rewarded With Mascot Package Thanks To Whites Christmas

18 December 2019

Young North End fan Rex was given a Whites Christmas treat when he was invited to be a mascot for the Luton Town fixture at Deepdale.

Rex was nominated by his auntie after he broke his collar bone, meaning his was unable to play football and take part in his regular sporting activities every week.

The family were invited to Deepdale as Rex went on a tour around the stadium, met the first team squad in the dressing room and then he walked out with Alan Browne before cheering the boys on to a 2-1 win!

Rex came to the game with his mum and his cousin, and explained how much it meant to him to find his love for football again after his injury had made him nervous about a return to playing.

"It's fantastic, he's been looking forward to it for ages, he's made up because he's been out of football for about ten weeks now, it's been brilliant.

I think he's been a bit nervous about getting back in to football but he has just said he wants to be a footballer again now so he can't wait to get back in to it."
