Adam O’Reilly Signs First Professional Contract

25 January 2019

Youth team captain and central midfielder Adam O’Reilly has signed his first professional contract with Preston North End.

After a week where he scored the opening goal in the Academy’s impressive FA Youth Cup win over Norwich City, the Irish youth international has agreed a deal until the summer of 2021.

He becomes the second member of the current U18 squad to earn professional terms after Jack Baxter put pen to paper on a two-year deal in the summer.

Adam, 17, who made his first team debut at home to Aston Villa over the Christmas period, joined the club in the summer of 2017 from Irish club Ringmahon Rangers.
Speaking about signing on with the club, he said: “I am over the moon. This is what I have been working toward since I was five or six-years-old.
“To finally get that day where I can put pen to paper is an unbelievable feeling and I am delighted to do it.

“A memorable thing for me is being able to share it with my mum and dad, who have helped me to get this stage.

“My dad is a coach and he has been helping me since I was young and they are both very proud and I want to thank them for that.”
