Preston North End’s second pre-season game takes place over in Ireland on Monday evening, when Cork City entertain the Lilywhites at their Turner’s Cross Stadium.
Goals from Tom Clarke and Louis Moult saw their pre-season campaign get off to a winning start at the weekend, with a 2-0 win at Bamber Bridge, however, the trip to Cork will provide a tough test for Alex Neil’s men, so early in the campaign.
The Irish side have a Europa League qualifier just three days later and will use the clash against North End to give them a stern test ahead of their match with FC Progrès Niederkorn of Luxembourg.
There were 22 players used at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium on Saturday and with the likes of Brad Potts, Irish international Callum Robinson and returning former Cork City man Sean Maguire available to come back in, there could again be a mixed squad used.
Josh Harrop and Billy Bodin, who both played their first 45 minutes since returning from cruciate knee injuries, should continue their comebacks, along with the likes of Clarke, Tom Barkhuizen, Andrew Hughes and Potts, who all ended last season on the sidelines.
A good number of PNE fans are set to head across for the game, with tickets still on sale for the 7pm kick-off at Turner's Cross. Ticket prices are adults €11, juniors €6 and seniors €6.
Tickets are available online here, please ensure you select away admission under the drop down menu which can be found under each age category.
The game will be covered on PNE’s official social media accounts, on the website and later on the week we will be uploading the full 90 minutes to iFollow PNE for those who can’t make the trip to Cork.
