PNE Women Juniors U14s Win ESF National Finals

16 July 2019

Preston North End Womens Juniors U14s did superbly to win the 2019 National Finals at St George's Park last weekend.

We featured their successes in the 2018/19 season of the U14s and their quadruple last month and now they have followed that up with a national success.

Having won the ESF Tournament at Butlin’s Skegness at Easter, the girls were then invited to the Grand Finale where the winners at each location would compete to determine the overall winner.

The Grand Finale was held at the prestigious St George's Park, the girls had to battle it out against teams from Plymouth, Cambridge, (who were the current holders) and Billericay.

There was a lot of tension in the air, but the girls got off to a flying start beating Plymouth 2-0 and then Billericay 1-0 to set up a mouth-watering final with Cambridge City, who had also won their opening two matches - Cambridge City being the team the girls beat in the Final at Skegness.

The game was a very hard fought affair, but with just five minutes left on the clock PNE scored the goal that saw them defeat Cambridge 1-0 and be crowned ESF Grand Finale champions. A brilliant way to end an unprecedented season of success for this incredible U14s PNE team.

The successes for the season: West Lancs League and Cup winners, LFA U14s County Cup winners, Blackpool Tournament U14s winners, and the ESF Area and Grand Finalle Winners for 2019.

The picture taken shows the successful squad, with the manager, assistant with all their 2018/19 trophies, including the large gold trophy they won at SGP.
