Ticket Pricing Update

15 July 2019

In May we published our season and matchday ticket prices for the 2019/20 season.

Within that announcement, we included a provision to encourage our supporters to make full use of the convenience of our electronic entry system by charging £2 less on matchdays for those purchasing the game on their member card, rather than purchasing a paper ticket at the ticket office.

A consequence of this was that away fans would be charged the higher price as they would not have access to the club’s membership scheme.

However, upon consulting with the EFL, it became clear that we could not restrict access to the pricing benefits of our member scheme to Preston North End supporters.

Therefore, to avoid an unacceptable situation whereby a home fan could find themselves paying more to watch a match than an away supporter, we have decided to update this element of our matchday pricing plan.

Shortly, when tickets for 2019/20 home fixtures go on sale, all home and away tickets will no longer carry a £2 premium for the purchase of a paper ticket from the ticket office. To encourage use of a member card in the future, however, any home supporters who choose to purchase in this way, will be issued with a card.

Buying a ticket on a member card is the most convenient way to purchase a ticket and enter the stadium. Supporters can purchase their ticket for the match by logging into their account at home or by phoning the ticket office and adding the game to their card, which then allows access through the turnstiles. There is no need to visit the ticket office in person or receive any tickets through the post.

Print at home tickets will also be available for the first time in 2019/20 and the first time a fan purchases in this way, they will also be sent a membership card, allowing them to load tickets to it in the future.
