With the first team back for pre-season, the official PNE Podcast has the latest as preparations build for the new season.

Following the squad’s return we’re back to take you through what’s been going on at PNE in anticipation of things getting underway for the new season.

We catch up with goalkeeper Declan Rudd, maintenance manager Paul Bradley and former North End favourite Scott Laird.

Having played 36 times in the Championship last season for the Lilywhites Rudd talks about his excitement at returning ahead of the start of his third consecutive season as a permanent member of the playing squad.

After consolidating his position between the sticks last season, the No.1 is well aware of the competition for places in the goalkeeping department.

Plus having seen his boyhood side Norwich City achieve promotion against the odds last season speaks to the podcast about the open nature of the Championship explaining the importance of a thorough pre-season.

With the same playing surfaces installed at the stadium and training ground during the off-season, we catch up with Deepdale’s Maintenance Manager Paul Bradley.

He explains the busy nature of the work he and his team have had ensuring the stadium is in a pristine condition ahead of the home friendly with Southampton on the 27th July as well as the first Sky Bet Championship game at Deepdale against Wigan Athletic on 10th August.

Meanwhile former North End left-back Scott Laird joins us to explain his decision to step out of professional football in the EFL upon leaving Forest Green to sign for Weston-Super-Mare.

Part of the 2015 League One Play-Off winning squad the 31-year-old outlines his ambitious to move into management and how his player/assistant manager role with the South-West outfit will help him to do so.
